Profile:

Graduated from Musashino Art University with a degree in film studies, Wang Chih-cheng started engaging in visual art design in 1991. In 2006, he founded Production Design company, which is dedicated to promoting art created for advertising and film. Later he tried his hand in directing, and has filmed TV commercials, short films, and documentaries, with “Inscribed Red Leaves” winning the Golden Harvest Awards for outstanding short films and best art design.

Wang has created art design for “Millennium Mambo,” “The Grandmaster,” and “Legend of the Demon Cat” in collaboration with notable directors Hou Hsiao-hsien, Wong Kar-wai and Chen Kai-ge respectively. In addition, he served as the art director in Taiwan for Luc Besson’s “LUCY” and Martin Scorsese’s “Silence,” which allowed him to accumulate rich experience in international collaboration.

Having been working in the industry for decades, Wang’s talent in art design has earned him multiple Golden Horse nominations for best art direction.
