Profile:
Evan Lin graduated from the Department of Civic Education and Leadership at National Taiwan Normal University and pursued graduate studies in Arts Administration and Management at Taipei National University of the Arts. He currently serves as Administrative Director of VMTheatre Company. With extensive production experience, his work spans musicals, concerts, and large-scale live events. He is also frequently invited to speak at industry panels and public talks, and is a podcast host. His recent credits include serving as Producer of Don’t Cry, Dancing Girls and Reed Unbroken; Production Coordinator for the 2025 Chiayi City Expo Opening Gala, The Bustling Days at the 35th Traditional Arts Golden Melody Awards, and A Tribute to Directors at the 58th Golden Bell Awards; and Production Coordinator and Executive Director for KST’s Track to Sleeping Moon at Taipei Music Center and The Cry of Sheep at Zepp Taipei. Additional recent credits include Production Coordinator for Fire EX.’s immersive album preview event Human Condition and the Taiwanese-language opera Formosa Bloom.
Abstract:
Starting with an introduction to the production process of Broadway musicals, this lecture reflects on the challenges facing musical theatre production in Taiwan. Using VMTheatre Company’s recent musicals as case studies, the talk introduces the company’s approaches to creative development, production execution, and marketing.
